Software Engineer

As a software engineer you will mainly work with the development of MathModelica, a software for modeling, simulation, documentation, and analysis of dynamic systems. It helps our customers to build mathematical models of real systems in order to understand and improve their products.

Your main tasks will be to work with design, implementation, and testing of the simulation kernel, including everything from algorithms for symbolic manipulation of mathematical expressions to code generation for different platforms and systems. This is mainly implemented using a functional language developed for compiler development. You will be part of a customer oriented and diverse development process based on an agile development process.

You should have excellent skills in functional languages, as well as C/C++ as well as good knowledge within software development environments such as Visual Studio, QT, and Eclipse.

Experience within software development as well a good understanding of physics is a merit. If you have worked a few years in software development projects within the industry this is also a good merit. It is also positive if you have experience of compiler technology, Modelica, and Mathematica. Of course you should have excellent skills in English and preferably in Swedish too, if you do not you should at least be willing to learn Swedish.

As a person you have easy to learn. You have the skill to quickly learn new programming languages as well as new science and know-how in the field. You are flexible and are therefore able to switch to the scope of work where your skills are most needed at the moment. Endurance and patience are essential as you will work with time consuming tasks. You are studious in your work and have good communication skills.

Applikationsingenjör

Som konsult inom modellering och simulering kommer du att arbeta med att hjälpa MathCores kunder att förstå och förbättra sina produkter. Ofta kommer detta att göras genom användning av programvaran MathModelica.

Du kommer t.ex. att

• tillsammans med kund utveckla matematiska modeller för deras system och sedan använda dessa för att studera hur systemet kan förväntas bete sig i olika situationer.
• testa olika konfigurationer och scenarion för att hjälpa kunden att förbättra sin produkt.
• jobba med olika sorters system, såsom mekaniska, hydrauliska, elektriska och termodynamiska.

Vi söker dig som är/har

• en civilingenjörsutbildning inom maskinteknik (M), eller teknisk fysik och elektroteknik (E, F, Y).
• god förståelse för fysikaliska system och goda kunskaper inom modellering och simulering.

Det är meriterande om du har specialistkunskap inom något av områdena mekanik, termodynamik och hydraulik. Vi ser gärna att du har varit ute i arbetslivet under några år och har erfarenhet av att jobba med utvecklingsprojekt. Vidare är det till stor fördel om Du har erfarenhet av Modelica samt Mathematica, men även andra modellerings- och simuleringsmiljöer, såsom Dymola, MATLAB och Simulink. Kunskap inom områdena reglerteknik, realtidssystem, numeriska metoder och optimal design är också meriterande.

Som person är du en förmåga att på kort tid kunna ta till Dig nya tekniska problem och har god känsla för hur dessa fungerar. Du är flexibel och kan därför växla mellan olika arbetsområden beroende på applikation. Vidare har Du uthållighet och tålamod vilket innebär att Du även kan arbeta med tidskrävande arbetsuppgifter. Det är viktigt att Du är noggrann och detaljerad i Ditt arbetssätt. Du behöver ha en god kommunikativ förmåga gentemot såväl kollegor som kunder. Naturligtvis har Du goda kunskaper i engelska.
