Upcoming Add-Ons

We are continuously working on expanding the MathModelica functionality. In this section some of the upcoming features are presented briefly and you can also apply for testing of these new features.

MathModelica Systems Biology

Published central metabolism model

MathModelica Systems Biology is an add-on product for MathModelica that provides a complete environment for modeling of biochemical systems. It adds libraries, tools and features to MathModelica to make modeling of such systems easier and more intuitive.

The Systems Biology Markup Language (SBML) is the leading modeling language within systems biology. It is a computer-readable format for representing models of biochemical reaction networks in software. SBML has been evolving since mid-2000 thanks to an international community of software developers and users. At the same time the Modelica language has evolved as the leading object-oriented modeling language for convenient, object-oriented modeling of complex physical systems.

With the release of version 1.0 of the BioChem library and the upcoming MathModelica Systems Biology add-on it will be possible to import and export from Modelica to SBML. The add-on also includes wizards to assist you when developing metabolic pathway models, as Metabolic Control Analysis.

Hydraulic Library

Hydraulic model

This library contains components to model hydraulic systems. A number of different valves and cylinders are included in the library, as well as pumps and motors. Most of the models in this library has lumped volumes to make it possible to connect them arbitrary. The hydraulic components could be combined with the Blocks and the Mechanical library. An example of a hydraulic system is shown in the figure.

The components in the library could easily be modified or extended. The hydraulic library is designed to be easy to use, and therefore the icons have been chosen similar to the standard hydraulic schematics.
