MathModelica version 2.1 to be released

Version 2.1 of MathModelica, scheduled for release in August 2009, will be the first version available on both Mac OS X (Leopard) and Windows. Below is a brief description of what you can expect from the upcoming release.

Modeling

With added support for the Multibody library (from the ModelicaAdditions library), version 2.1 makes it possible to create models of 3D mechanical systems, such as robots. A library for modeling of electrical machines is included as well.

Simulation and Analysis

To simplify the analysis of 3D systems, an animation window has been added. Furthermore, the addition of a steady state solver makes it easier to find a steady state point to initialize your models from. Creating FFT analysis will help you in analyzing your simulations. Finally, with Mathematica 7 it will be possible to run simulations in parallel. For instance to perform parameter sweeps.

Documentation

A new publishing feature makes it easy to create interactive HTML documentation of your models in just a few clicks.

        Key fetures

  • Support for 3D mechanics
  • Support for electrical machines
  • New publishing feature
  • Steady state solver
